Kimberly H. Townson
Executive Director
Born and raised
in the Twin Tiers, graduated from Corning Community College with an
Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelors
in Psychology. She has spent over 15 years in human services
including Drug and Alcohol Prevention Counseling, foster care, and
was the Program Director at RCST (Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier).
She is currently working on
her Master's Degree of Science, in Health Services with a
concentration in Wellness Promotion. She is married with three
children and enjoys distance running, reading and spending time with
friends and family.
"I am completely thrilled to
lead such a meaningful organization as Nonnie Hood Parent & Family
Resource Center. I thank the PRC's Board and staff for this
opportunity and look forward to working collaboratively with parents
and their children, community members, area educators, volunteers,
donors and fellow agencies to help PRC reach it's finest potential."

Jennifer Edger
Associate Director
for Community Affairs
Jen has been in the
field of social and human services for 10 years, beginning her
career with Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier in 1997, after
finishing her Bachelor's in Psychology and Liberal Arts. She began
her work as a counselor/advocate and enjoyed working with her
clients. As she moved into more administrative positions such as
Volunteer Coordinator for RCST, then Community Affairs Coordinator,
she was able to gain additional skills beyond case management. These
include volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and
evaluation, managing fundraising events, grantwriting, coordinating
public affairs such as publicity, marketing, and agency
representation on various committees.
During a brief one year tenure with Pro Action/Head Start, Jen
developed a passion for the holistic approach taken by the program
to grow children and their families, and build on the strengths they
already possess.
In 2006, Jen joined the staff of the PRC. It has been an adventure,
and she has been able to grow her skills of grantwriting, fund
development, public affairs, and volunteer management, and
positively impact the PRC along the way.
Jen resides in Corning with her husband, Michael and daughters
Hannah age 8, and Jordan age 4.

Brooke Bennett
Family Educator
Hi there everyone!! Thanks for
welcoming me on board. I have previously enjoyed the many services
the PRC has to offer with my daughter and am now excited to be on
the giving end of the team. I am currently attending Elmira College,
attempting to complete my masters in Education and awaiting the
birth of our family's newest addition in September! Please feel free
to offer up any suggestions for going to school, raising a family
and working with the occasional spaghetti dinner. I come to you from
working with families in Head Start and Steuben Child Care Project.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know your
families.
Grandma Helen (Baird)
National Foster
Grandparent Program
Every Thursday
I look forward to coming to the PRC; I enjoy every minute of it.
This is a perfect place for me as a retired teacher who loves to be
with children. I am here with the National Foster Grandparent
Program, which places grandparents with children wherever there is a
need. At the PRC I provide a reading readiness activity for
children who want to make a book. It is so much fun!
Another amazing thing is the staff who are always so helpful and
cheerful. Kim and Jennifer encourage me every time they see me. As a
graduate of Elmira College with m y BA and MA degrees, I'd say that
this is, by far, the best resource center for families that I have
seen.
I am a member of the North Baptist Church where I do special music,
both singing and playing the piano. Twice a month I participate in
prison ministry, and play the piano. It is very rewarding to do
this. I sing in the Chorus of the Southern Finger Lakes, and we
perform at the Clemens Center in December each year. My daughter and
her family are a great joy to me. The grandchildren provide me with
so much entertainment - music, sports, and church activities. My
family and church ministry are a large part of my life. I can now
add the PRC to that list of things that bring me joy, and I hope to
bring as much joy to the people at the PRC.

I greatly enjoy
working with families and am extremely excited to join the team at
PRC! I have a variety of experiences that I am excited to bring to
the center! My most recent experience was as a case manager in a
non-profit organization. I have worked with adults with
developmental disabilities, facilitated seminars, and worked with
children as a private childcare provider.
I am excited to share that in 2009 I will successfully complete a
Bachelors Degree in Human Services and plan to continue with my
education by pursuing a Masters Degree in Education.
I greatly enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially
outdoors! I have a beautiful son, Cole Michael. He is a very busy
toddler and we love to play at the park and ride our bikes! In my
spare time, I enjoy quilting and scrapbooking. I am also a
triathlete in training (with the support of my wonderful boyfriend);
I love to swim, bike, and run. I also enjoy kickboxing!
I am thrilled to get to know all of the families at the PRC. Hope to
see you soon!
